Laminate Guides

Care & Maintenance

Laminate flooring is naturally durable, making cleaning a breeze. Consider this guide your crash course on how to care for your new laminate floors & keep them looking great for years to come.

Regular care

Do not use steam cleaners or wet mops when cleaning your flooring. However, do blot up spills with a clean, damp cloth as soon as they happen. Never allow liquids to stand on your laminate floors. This could cause swelling or warping. Avoid using steel wool, abrasive cleaners, ammonia, or chlorinated cleaners. Do not use any type of buffing or polishing machine on your laminate floors.

Sweep, dust, or vacuum regularly to prevent the accumulation of dirt. Periodically clean the floor with cleaning products made specifically for laminate floor care.

Preventative maintenance

Entry mats help collect dirt and other substances that might otherwise be tracked onto your floor. Use floor protectors to minimize the chance of indentations & scratches from heavy objects. The heavier the object, the wider the floor protector should be. Never try to slide heavy objects across the floor.

Keep your pets’ nails trimmed to prevent them from scratching your floor.
