Care & Maintenance

While incredibly durable and waterproof, tile does still require some basic care and maintenance to keep it looking its very best!

Daily care suggestions

Sweep, dust, or vacuum your floor regularly to remove accumulated dirt or grit that can scratch or dull the surface. If using a vacuum, turn off or remove the beater brush so it doesn’t cause damage.

Weekly care suggestions

Wipe down your floor with a damp mop or a steam mop at least once per week, depending on foot traffic. Use a cleaner made specifically for stone or tile that has a neutral pH that will not stain your grout. We offer a range of floor cleaning products and would be happy to make a recommendation for your specific product.

What to avoid

Do not damp mop a newly installed floor for at least 72 hours. Doing so can damage the grout, which needs time to dry and cure. Never leave water standing on the floor. Water can leave the floor slippery and dull the surface. Never use detergent or soap, which can dull the surface or promote the growth of mildew. Never use cleaners that contain acids, vinegar, chlorine, or ammonia, as these chemicals can damage and discolor the grout or the surface of the stone or tile.
